Press Release – August 15, 2022
Santa Clara, California – Ignited is pleased to announce its two newest members to join our Board of Directors.
Cesy Martínez works for San Francisco Unified School District on the College and Career Readiness team. She has been with the district in various roles for three years and before joining SFUSD she managed a national STEM program, the Science Action Club, for the California Academy of Sciences. Cesy has also worked for the Oakland Unified School District as a Senior Program Manager in their Extended School Day Programs. She has been involved with youth development programs her whole life, working in schools, summer camps, and after-school programs from an early age and she’s spent her entire career focused on workforce and program development.
Terence Lim is currently the Head of International at Noom. He has over a decade of experience helping consumer tech companies such as eBay, Uber, and Instacart grow and scale. During his tenure at Udemy, an Edtech leader, he helped to grow the platform to connect 40,000 instructors with 30 million students across the globe. He’s excited to bring his experience, strategic planning, and business leadership skills to Ignited’s Board and to support its mission to connect companies, educators, and students in building STEM career pathways.
The new members join existing board members Patrick Beatty (Naspers Ventures), Keegan Evans (Intuit), Anne Hausler (Merit HR), Anissa Kalinowski (Halo Biosciences), Christine Moon (Bluespace.AI), and Kash Shaikh (Virtana), Faith Dukes (Lawrence Berkeley National Lab), Shari Liss (SEMI Foundation), Sean Folan (Cisco), Selina Garrison (Intuit), Ronnie Versher (San Francisco Public Utilities Commission).
Ignited was founded in 1985 by 12 of the Bay Area’s leading CEOs and the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley after they realized students were graduating from high school without the math and science skills needed for career success. In over 36 years of providing unique teacher learning and workforce development solutions, Ignited has found that a Board of Directors with members of diverse areas of expertise allows the organization to continue meeting the needs of both educators and employers.
