Sophie Olson

Sophie Olson manages Ignited’s grant writing strategy, diversifying Ignited’s funding by researching a robust pipeline of funders and leading the submission of proposals and grant reports.

Sophie brings over five years of experience coordinating the undergraduate program in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of History. She supported the educational and funding initiatives of the program, which included facilitating the application and awarding process of gift funds to undergraduates in the form of scholarships, research awards, and writing prizes.

Sophie’s passion for supporting underserved students comes from her personal background as a low-income student, and experiencing firsthand the impact that teachers can have on the professional development and career trajectory of young learners. Sophie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and anthropology from Wellesley College. In her free time she enjoys touring museums and historical sites, hiking through state and national parks, and spending time with her two cats.
