Water’s Role in Urban Environments with the SFPUC and Stantec

Requirements

Dive into the hidden science behind public utilities in the Science in the City Experience Week. This program is open to K-12 teachers of any subject area in San Francisco Unified School District. Join us as we take a deep look into various fields within public utilities and learn about the many careers available to our students in the near future! Each day will focus on a specific district, from the South East to the Presidio, taking a special science-focused behind-the-scenes look at the construction and development on Treasure Island. Therefore, we would especially love to connect with teachers who work at schools serving students from Treasure Island.

As we visit one district in the city each day, we’ll focus on water’s importance through the lens of:

Learn about a range of job functions within the field through tours, job shadows, and employee interviews. Develop a lesson to bring back to your school, and earn $1,100.
