- Position: All Elementary, Middle and High School educators and staff
- Location: In-person, East Bay Area
Deepen your understanding of the environmental challenges and innovative solutions shaping our future in this week-long externship designed for K-12 educators across all subject areas. With a special focus on green jobs, watershed stewardship, sustainability, and community impact, this program will take place primarily in the East Bay.
Participants will examine sustainable solutions through the lens of:
- Green Jobs and Career Pathways: Learn about the growing field of green jobs and the skills students need to enter careers in sustainability.
- Watershed Stewardship: Discover how communities protect vital water resources and preserve natural ecosystems to ensure clean, healthy water for the future.
- Sustainable Infrastructure: Investigate how cities are adopting eco-friendly technologies to reduce environmental impact.
- Community Impact: Explore how climate change, pollution, and resource inequality disproportionately affect marginalized communities, and how solutions can be designed with equity in mind.
- Circular Economy and Zero-Waste Practices: Dive into sustainable models of consumption and production, focusing on reducing waste, reusing resources, and creating a circular economy.
