Deepen your understanding of the environmental challenges and innovative solutions shaping our future in this week-long externship designed for K-12 educators across all subject areas. With a special focus on green jobs, watershed stewardship, sustainability, and environmental justice, this program will take place primarily in the East Bay.
Each day, we’ll examine sustainable solutions through the lens of:
- Green Jobs and Career Pathways: Learn about the growing field of green jobs and the skills students need to enter careers in sustainability.
- Watershed Stewardship: Discover how communities protect vital water resources and preserve natural ecosystems to ensure clean, healthy water for the future.
- Sustainable Infrastructure: Investigate how cities are adopting eco-friendly technologies to reduce environmental impact.
- Environmental Justice: Explore how climate change, pollution, and resource inequality disproportionately affect marginalized communities, and how solutions can be designed with equity in mind.
- Circular Economy and Zero-Waste Practices: Dive into sustainable models of consumption and production, focusing on reducing waste, reusing resources, and creating a circular economy.
Priority Teachers: Priority will be given to teachers in the East Bay Area.
